Hello there,

The perfect price for an e-book

What is the price? What does it mean to sell an e-book?

Well, considering that the e-book is not a tangible object, we can think about it as a software, and it’s a software if we really see what it is. You can have a license on that. When you buy an e-book from Amazon, Kobo, Apple and Google they can decide that the e-book you purchased it’s not anymore available for you and remove it from their servers for you, so you’re going to lose it from your Amazon/Kobo/Apple/Google device. It’s difficult it happen, but it can always happen, so the best thing is to make a backup of the e-book files when it’s possible, when you don’t have to fight against DRM.

But it’s not this the purpose of this post.

The purpose is to reflect on the e-book price concept. e-book is not tangible object, you can’t touch it, you can’t feel the smell of the pages, but, at the end of the story, it’s always a text, it’s a story an author wrote. What is the best price if the author is a selfpublisher?

“Lexapros and Cons” by Aaron Karo

I read this beautiful book. I was intrigued by the Italian Book Cover Edition, the title and synopsis. It thrilled me so much that I finished it in just 2 days.

I read the presentation on the Publisher website (Farrar, Straus and Giroux) and I thought: «Interesting». You can find also an excerpt of the book in PDF on their website. After I read it I realized that I would have liked it. I wanted to take it in e-book, but it costs just one dollar less than the hardcover book and in the Kobo Store it has the DRM, so I took it as hardback in Italian edition. It has a nice hardback cover, just like I love.

Translation is art

Posted on Updated on

I’m quite ready to publish my first 5 short stories. The e-book is ready. I need some other revisions on my translation, but it’s been fun and hard at the same time. I better learned English.

I know English. I was stayed in Czech, in Germany, in Scotland, in Spain, in Ireland during some conferences. I spoke English all the time. I studied English, I read English. Last year I was in the wonderful London. I fell in love with that city. Just three days… too few, so I’d like to come back there.

The first e-book

Posted on Updated on

Last July I published my first e-book. “Deve accadere”… It’s an Italian e-book composed by 15 short stories. “Deve accadere” stands for “It has to happen” and it’s the 14th novel novel of the e-book.

Six of the fifteen short stories in the e-book has been published by an Italian Publisher based in Rome, so the stories has been evaluated by someone that publish books every day so this is a plus value for the e-book.

Don’t write that…

This morning I read a review … well, review is a big word considering the following sentence: “The book is not very good.” Stop. No reason that explain what book part is not very good, or better, why it’s not so great, maybe it’s so horrible that you don’t need to explain what don’t catch your taste.
